I have been struggling with that question for the past five years as a parent. In my case, self-care comes as quickly as thinking about the next thing I need to do as a mom. Prioritizing sleep during those first few months was almost impossible \u2013 it took me nearly a year to get used to this new life of constant feedings and sleep deprivation. Even though I was lucky enough to find an excellent daycare solution for my daughter \u2013 things still didn’t change drastically for me.<\/p>\n
I recognize that I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to be with my daughter full-time, so when she naps, I nap too. And when she goes to sleep at 7 or 8 in the evening, I do homework until midnight because no one else is doing it for me! Being a mom has changed the way I take care of myself.<\/p>\n
